What this means for you

How we mark affiliate links

Affiliate links are marked with rel="nofollow sponsored" in the page code, open in a new tab, and appear as buttons labelled with wording such as "Buy on Amazon", "Shop on Amazon" or "Check price on Amazon". A disclosure notice appears at the top of every page and in the footer of every page.

What it does not change

• We do not rank by commission. Commission rates in this category are broadly similar, and we would not order recommendations by them if they were not.
• We publish drawbacks. Every product page on this site lists what a set does badly alongside what it does well, because a guide that only praises things is worthless.
• We recommend buying less, often. Several of our guides tell you to buy a smaller set, or an accessory instead of a large box, or nothing at all until the child is old enough.
• We take no payment for placement. No brand has paid to appear here, to be described favourably, or to be ranked above another.

Prices and availability

We do not display prices on this site, and that is deliberate. Prices on Amazon change frequently and vary by seller and region, so any figure we published would be out of date quickly and potentially misleading. Availability, set contents and specifications are equally subject to change without notice.
